Milena Baldassarri was the first Italian woman to win an individual medal at a World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in 2018. Even as a child, she wanted to try many different sports and for years practiced four at the same time: swimming, rhythmic gymnastics, classical dance, and horse riding. When she had to choose one, she stuck with rhythmic gymnastics. The results weren't immediate, she even came last in her first official competition.
But with the support of her family and her dedication, she continued to develop and improve in a sport where it is paramount to practice repeatedly in order to perfect every movement. She never wavered in her journey, earning a quota spot for Paris 2024 at the 2023 World Championships.
