The Mitten Song

Song by Miss Nina/Nina Stone

Copyright 2019 - All Rights Reserved

Niki wanted mittens

As white as the snow

His Baba said, “If you drop one

You might not find it, you know?”

Baba finished knitting

Niki went out to play

Wasn’t long before he dropped one

In the snow that day……

Lucky little mole

Found the mitten on the ground

Crawled right in

And decided to stick around.

A rabbit hopping by,

Wanted to snuggle in too

The mole made room cuz

what’s a mole to do?

For a prickly hedgehog

mole and rabbit made some room.

Then an owl with pointy talons

Came to squeeze in too.

Badger looked out of his house

saw that cozy little mitten

It looked so nice and warm

He made himself fit in.

CHORUS

The Mitten

The Mitten

The Mitten

How many animals can fit in?

(repeat)

As it started to snow

A fox came along

Nosed his way right in

To join that animal throng

Big bear sniffed the mitten,

animals were packed in tight,

But squeezed in anyway,

Cuz a bear they wouldn’t fight!

The mitten stretched big and bigger,

And then along came a mouse

Perched herself on the bears nose

In this mitten-like house.

Mouse’s whiskered tickled the bear

Right on his nose

And what do you think happened?

What do you suppose?

Aaaaaaa -AAaaaaa- Aaaaaa -Aaaaaa - Chew!!!!

The bear sneezed

so big & loud

All the animals flew out of the mitten

the mitten flew up to the clouds

Niki saw his mitten

Sail up in the air

He ran and grabbed it fast

Before his Baba saw it there.

Then he turned to the window

& showed Baba in the distance

“See Baba! Don’t worry!

I still have both my mittens!”

CHORUS

The Mitten

The Mitten

The Mitten

How many animals can fit int?

(repeat)

In that snow white mitten!
