As the number on the left goes up,

the number on the right goes down

and the two of them together they make nine.

One times nine is nine

and two times nine is eighteen.

Three times nine is twenty-seven.

Four times nine is thirty-six

and five times nine is forty-five.

Six times nine is fifty-four.

Seven times nine is sixty-three

and eight times nine is seventy-two.

Nine times nine is eighty-one,

and ten times nine is ninety.

This is where the pattern ends,

but eleven times nine is ninety-nine

and twelve times nine is one hundred and eight.
