Lyrics
Cornelius lived in a Roman town,
A kind centurion of great renown.
He helped the poor, he loved to pray,
And followed God in (almost) every way.
One day at noon - was lunch in sight?
An angel appeared in blinding light…
“God’s got a plan - now here’s your clue:
Go get Peter, he’s waiting for you!”
Big or small, come join the song
God’s love welcomes everyone
Every heart, every face
His love and grace fill every place.
Now Peter was praying on a rooftop high,
When a vision came from the big blue sky!
Animals – creepy, and crawly, and wild…
“Eat up, Peter!” (Ne nearly cried!).
“No way!” said Pete. “I won’t touch that stew!”
But the voice said, “Hey, there’s something new:
Don’t call things ‘unclean’ that were made pure -
God’s love is for all! Of that, be sure!”
So Pete and Cornelius met face to face,
In the Roman home - what a holy place!
Peter said aloud: “Now I see it’s true:
God’s love is both for me and you!”
And right then and there, with hearts set free,
God’s Spirit came like a rushing sea!
No one too far, no one too small…
In Jesus’ name, He welcomes all!
All?
Yes
