Lyrics:

Photosynthesis is a process

For plants to make our own food

Out of water and CO2

We use the energy we get from the sunlight

To make us photosynthesize

And in the end, photosynthesis helps our human friends

‘Cause we release the oxygen you breathe

In photosynthesis

Plant:

I have roots that reach down in the ground

And take in all the water they can find

I have leaves that take in CO2

Also known as carbon dioxide

And with the sunlight’s energy I take those two

And make a sugar called glucose, and that’s my food

And it helps me grow tall

But that’s not all, I make oxygen too

Leaf:

Hey, let’s talk about me for a minute

It wouldn’t be photosynthesis without leaves in it

I have stomata, these are my gorgeous pores

For the CO2 and oxygen, of course

And I get my green color so naturally

It’s chlorophyll, it absorbs the sun’s energy

And I keep it in my chloroplasts

You know that’s where the party’s at

In photosynthesis

Photosynthesis is a process

For plants to make our own food

Out of water and CO2

We use the energy we get from the sunlight

To make us photosynthesize

And in the end, photosynthesis helps our human friends

‘Cause we release the oxygen you breathe

In photosynthesis
