They keep the plant steady even when the wind blows
Or the heavy rain comes, the roots give stability
It's also really cool that roots have the ability
To soak up the nutrients and water from the soil
To keep the plant healthy through nature's turmoil
And something really cool scientists have discovered
Roots can actually communicate with one another
They give off different chemicals to send each other signals
We don't know what they're saying so it's still kind of a riddle

The next part of a plant is the stem
Also known as the stalk and it's the very center of the plant
Connecting the roots to the leaves and the flowers

So the plant can perform photosynthesis

But to sum it up quickly
It's how a plant turns sunlight into chemical energy
That's how the plant gets food to eat

Water & nutrients for the plant's support
So it's not just a stick other parts are attached to

Like butterflies, birds & bees that eat the nectar that the flower makes
And while they're eating, the flower shakes...
The pollen loose which the pollinator takes to...
Another flower and that's how it gets fertilized
To create more seeds so more plants can arise!
