Miniature kids combine harvesting soybeans on farm with semi truck. First, the Kid Crew farm team is checks on their soybean field and decides that it is ready to harvest. So they run to their miniature kids combine and miniture kids semi truck grain hauler. We’re so happy to have a team of two kids on this big job! The combine goes first and is towing its header behind on a trailer. That way it’s narrow enough for the roads. The combine looks ready to with augers and a grain tank, but it doesn’t actually work. It can’t cut anything or thresh the crop. After they get to the field, they unhook the header trailer and bring the combine around to hook the header on to. The team bolts the header into place, and get ready to harvest. The kids combine approaches the field and starts to pretend to harvest. Once in the field, the auger in the grain tank turns on and starts filling up with soybeans. The combine finishes its first row and then calls the truck running grain cart to come over for unloading. The team folds out the combine’s unloading pipe and fills the semi truck. Then the kid team practices driving in unison while the combine harvests. This is done by real farmers when they can’t take the time to stop the combine to unload. Dad lines up the drivers and they set out together. They do a great job working as a team! Once done with the field they drive in the semi truck together to a minature grain elevator. They dump the soybeans onto the grates that are connected underground to the sotage containers. Then we play a fun game at home with our Bruder farm toys to re-create a growing year. We start just after harvest with stubble in the field. We do light tillage with a disc and soil conditioner towed by a big powerful tractor. The toy disc actually tills the real dirt and spagetti noddles we used for the stubble! Once done, we fill a seeder with seseme seeds (These end up being inside toys too) and plant the field. The seeder distributes the seeds. We did not do any fertilizing or weed / pest control. Then time passes, the field grows, and it's ready for harvest. Dad and the Kid Crew set out with a combine harvester and a grain trailer towed by a tractor. They haverst the field and use rice as the grain. Once full dad empties his grain trailer in a bin. Meanwhile the combine left straw on the field and the pair use a baler towed by a tractor to collect it! In the educational segment we learn how combines work, with a special focus on augers.
