In this video we pretend to be a construction worker and fix a huge pothole in a kid-sized road with a power wheels steamroller, dump truck, and trailer. We fill the hole and then compact it down. We also play with our Bruder trucks to build a bridge and pave it with asphalt.

First, mom is driving her car and hits a huge pothole. Then the Kid Crew road construction crew arrives on the scene with his dump truck towing a trailer that has a steamroller on it. We first set up warning lights to keep traffic out of the construction site and away from the pothole. Then we unload the road roller and fill the roller with water. It weights over 250 lbs when full! That’s a lot of smoothing power. Then we unhook the trailer and get ready to dump fresh gravel into the pothole. But unfortunately traffic is getting too crazy on the road and there is an accident. So we shut the site down and plan to come back at night. As night falls, traffic is calm, but we have to setup some worklights. Road paving often happens at night in real life to minimize traffic distruptions. Then we prep the hole and dump in the road material. Then it’s finally time to start using the steamroller! It does a great job compressing the road material and smoothing the pothole. After finishing, everything is packed up and clears the roadway. Next, we play a fun game you can do at home. We use our Bruder construction toys to pretend play the replacement of a rotten wooden bridge with a new concrete one. A bridge is washed away by a flood and a driver is stranded. The road crew comes to the rescue with a new concrete bridge, dump truck of asphalt, steamroller, cement mixer, and crane. They dig foundations for the new bridge and fill them with concrete, then place the bridge over a river. Then the job is completed with a fresh layer of asphalt that is compacted with the road roller. We’re not positive that there are new concrete bridges out there with asphalt on them, but we did it this way to get another opportunity to use the steamroller. In the educational segment we learn how steamrollers work.We also try to clear up some of the terminology between steamrollers, road rollers, and compactors.

Come pretend play with us! Join us kids, toddlers, girls, and boys as we use our ride on toy trucks, toy tractors, and toy equipment to do construction, farming, and home improvement pretend play projects. While we play our games and drive our vehicles, we learn about engineering, science, STEM, and how things work in our educational segment.
