The big cat with the spots galore
And they're called rosettes, the pattern is legit
Camouflage is what they're for
The South American rainforest
Is the place where the jaguars dwell
And they're really good swimmers, they cross large rivers
Where they find some good prey as well
"What kind of prey does the jaguar like?"
Capybaras, caimans and monkeys
"Alright, what else?"
How bout deer, armadillos and fish
Even turtles and crocodiles are on the prey list
And jaguars have the most powerful bite
Out of all the big cats "Oh wow! Is that right?"
Yep! When its powerful jaws clamp down
They have the force of over 1,500 pounds!
Jaguars don't hang in groups
They like to live and hunt alone
Up to 50 square miles of territoraayyy
Is where they like to roam
And they're not about chasing prey
They like to get it over quick
So they quietly stalk at dusk or dark
And ambush whatever prey they pick
The jaguar is a symbol in mythology
For the Mayan, the Inca and also the Aztec cultures
It was treated like a deity
And represented strength, power and authority
And it was also connected with fertility
Legend has it jaguars had ability
To cross between the underworld and the world we see
It was a boss in these ancient societies!
